Dou you want to learn a “real” Russia and Russian language? Come, and we acquaint you with Ekaterinburg – a city on the border line between Europe and Asia, the capital of the Urals, with rich cultural traditions and highly developed industry.

Who is this course for?

For those who wish to get to know this unique Russian region better and to combine staying there with studies at our Linguistic Centre.

Cost of the course

20 hours per an intensive week:

  • 14000 roubles for individual lessons;
  • 7000 roubles for lessons in groups.

Lessons under this package offer are carried out by 4 academic hours per day for 5 days in a week.

The basic offer is a week-long course, but you can book the course and choose a programme for any period if desired.

After an express training you can take a test in Russian as a foreign language and obtain a state-recognised certificate of the corresponding level (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language, TORFL).

This course will help you:

  • To acquire communication skills (listening comprehension, speaking);
  • To get reading and grammar knowledge according to the level of training course;
  • To immerse into the language environment;
  • To learn Ekaterinburg as you wish.

Along with studies you can choose appropriate leisure activities from a large number of excursions, entertainment events, recreational activities and similar services available in our region. Russian and English-speaking guides are available to give trips around the city. At your request we can involve French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese-speaking guides.

The cost may be adjusted, depending on seasons and number of guests.

Nature Park “Olenyi Ruchyi” (in translation from Russian – Deer Creeks)
it is the Pearl of the Urals drawing over 50 thousand of visitors yearly. The park is a specially protected natural area (conservation area) under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Sverdlovsk region.
The landscape of the park includes mixed forests and taiga with rocks and caves.

For a walk you should put on comfortable shoes and clothes appropriate for the season.
The last Emperor of Russia
You will visit the Church-on-Blood built on the site where the Romanov family members were killed, and the Ganina Yama, their burial site, where now an active monastery is located.

Ekaterinburg: city on the border of two worlds. Visiting the border between Europe and Asia
You will get to know everything about the border between two continents and be able to stand on the border with one your foot in Europe and the other in Asia!
You will visit the oldest border obelisk near Pervouralsk city (30 km far from Ekaterinburg) and the new border complex at Novo-Moscovsky highway (17 km far from Ekaterinburg), where you can also buy souvenirs.

Nizhnyaya Sinyachikha. Museum of wooden architecture
It is an open-air museum where izbas (peasant’s log hut) and chapels of the 17-19th centuries from throughout Ural region are amassed. You will see unique interiors of different ages inside every izba and get familiar with traditions and everyday life of peasants of the Urals.
The museum of wooden architecture was founded in the 80s of the last century in Nizhnyaya Sinyachikha village (180 km far from Ekaterinburg).

Mafia cemeteries
The “Wild” 1990s are a period making many people shudder. At that time, Ekaterinburg was divided by two main clans: Uralmash and Centre gangs. They used to shoot at each other openly on the streets. The number of those killed was so great that whole sections with graves of bandits appeared in city cemeteries.
During the tour, you will visit the Northern cemetery in District Uralmash and the Shirokaya Rechka cemetery, where you can see gangster monuments of impressive size and decoration. You will also hear stories about those who dominated the Russian society during the “wild” nineties.

Yeltsin Centre
A community, cultural, and educational centre opened in Ekaterinburg in 2015.
One of the main units of the Centre is the Boris Yeltsin Museum dedicated to the modern political history of Russia and to the personality of the first President of Russia. It’s the most questionable, controversial museum of our times; it provokes disputes and doesn’t leave anybody indifferent.
The Centre also includes a hotel, an art gallery, cinema & conference hall, book shop, coffee room, archive, library, park of scientific amusements, co-working office, sport club, and other organizations. The venues of the Centre host lectures, concerts, exhibitions, festivals, and various social events regularly.

Yeltsin Centre

Leaning Tower of Nevyansk
Nevyansk is a city (90 km far from Ekaterinburg), formerly the capital of the Mining and Metallurgy Empire of the Demidov family.
The exact year of construction of the Nevyansk Tower is unknown; it is also unknown, why or what for it was built.
Unlike its sister, Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Nevyansk Tower has always been leaning. The Tower still keeps many secrets, and in order to unlock them you will have to go up to the eighth floor of the Tower, where the bell-playing musical clockwork made by an English master, and which cost more than the construction of the Tower itself, is still going.

The Tower is closed for visitors on Mondays!

Museum of History of Ekaterinburg city, Nevyansk Icon Museum, Ural Geological Museum, Ural Vision Gallery and others, depending on your interests
Theatres:
You will be able to see a stage performance in one of the well-known theatres of our city: Opera and Ballet Theatre, Theatre of Musical Comedy, Drama Theatre, Philharmonic Hall.
